I loved this book! My favorite so far and I've read basically everything Kaylea's written! I'm not sure why tho!
Rhyn is a sexy, mysterious alpha male. In the last book he was injuries extremely bad, he shouldn't have lived, but by some miracle he survived.
Luke CIA called him and his twin brother to help w security at his sons wedding, rhyn wasn't sure if he was ready until his twin told him that the women he saved then who saved him would be giving a speech in the same town the wedding was occurring. Oh and that she could be in danger, so he was in. He already had feelings for her and there was no way he'd let someone else protect her.
The connection they have is unbelievable, it is hot!! Must read!! I can't wait to read the next and last book in this series!!!

Rhys Sinclair had a traumatic brain injury in No Turning Back (Book 4) thanks to trauma surgeon Neveah Adams. Rhys can't get Neveah out of his mind. When he finds out that a threat has been made against her life, he agrees to be her security for a conference.

Rhys is a character women will love and Neveah is a strong woman. Both of these characters suffered physical obstacles and we get to watch them overcome those obstacles. I found that I realized who the threat to Neveah was before it was revealed which made the action toward the end tense as I was waiting for her to catch up to where the danger was coming from.

There is romance, danger, action & misunderstands all common in a Kaylea Cross book. In a series, you understand that each book pulls from the first book and continues the action until the plot is solved in the last book. I read some reviews on where that frustrated readers but that is part of what a series does and I love that about this author's books.
Kaylea Cross is becoming one of my favorite authors with her romantic suspense books. In this story, Luke's son was getting married (Bryn would attend) in the same place that Neveah was speaking at a physician's conference. Tehrazzi knew this and felt he could right all of his wrongs by taking out all of them at the wedding. He did not count on himself not being able to attend to do the honors and had to leave things up to others. Luke understands the threat and ask Declan, Ben, Rhys and his friend Nate (current local police) to help him out with security. The men wanted to keep the idea of the threat from the women (Emily, Bryn, Nev, etc). Things don't always go as planned. While Rhys is not 100% back to normal, he felt the need to join the team to protect Nev. While these events occur, Rhys and Nev grow closer.

This was my favorite book in the series so far (have not read Absolution yet). I really enjoy how Kaylea puts a story together and how she is able to pull all the different characters into it. They all seem to have a purpose - she does not just put them in there to try to keep them involved in the series. It was nice to see an alpha male lose it at some point. The relationship Ben and Rhys has is amazingly strong and one of the best things about this series. Regarding the romance, it was fun watching Rhys and Nev's relationship grow. Kaylea does a very good job with intimate scenes, as she places them appropriately in the story and keeps them real with the characters. She doesn't just throw them in there to have them. I thought it was great that while this story was about Rhys and Luke, we got to see how Dec and Bryn are doing.

It took me awhile to figure it out but I like Luke. I wasn't sure about him from the beginning but it seems that even though he is cool and hard on the outside, he is the father figure and he knows when his boys need time with their girls and that there is a bigger point to life than just chasing terrorists (although he probably wouldn't admit it). He knows this better than anyone with his own family. I thoroughly enjoyed watching Emily and Luke interact in this book and can't wait to see them in the next book. If you are looking for a book that has real characters, great dialogue, suspense, action, and romance, I highly recommend this series!

Rhys Sinclair is a ex-Delta Force operator. He was badly injured while rescuing Neveah Adams. He rescued her from imprisonment in Afghanistan while working with Luke Hutchinson's group.

Rys is also known as a deep, dark man who never shows emotion. A man who always gets the job done. He's loyal to his brother and his friends but shows no emotion towards anyone else. He's a hard guy for most people to figure out. He's also looks like every womans dream. Yep. He's one handsome drool worthy guy.

Sinclair's head injury was devastating and no one thought he would recover to the extent that he has. In fact he's almost back to normal. Almost. He knows he will never be a Delta operator again.

Rhys can, however, work for Luke Hutchinson's CIA team. The same team his twin ex-Ranger brother Ben works for.

Luke is hot on the trail of a terrorist. A terrorist who would like nothing better than to destroy Hutchinson and those he works with and the families of all of them. The kicker is this terrorist, Farouk Tehrazzi, was trained by Luke himself in Afghanistan when the Russians were there. Tehrazzi was very well trained so he will never be a pushover to capture or kill.

Rhys is 6'6". His twin brother Ben is 6'4". Rys is always ribbing Ben about that two inches and the fact that he's six minutes older than Ben.

Rhys and Ben are very, very close as only twins can be. Ben was present when Rys was wounded and he was also at Walter Reed waiting for Rys to wake up. Ben was there for all of it including the therapy sessions. Therapy sessions Rys pushed to the limit to get where he is today. Back from the dead.

Neveah Adams is a surgeon and she saved Rys life. She was there when he was wounded in an explosion and held him together till they got to Bagram and from there on to Germany and finally Walter Reed. She's a trauma surgeon and a damned good one.

She's also a lady with loads of baggage from her imprisonment and almost death at the hands of Tehrazzi. Every nights its nightmares about her colleagues in Doctors Without Borders who were killed by that sadistic madman. She and another doctor, Micheal, were the only survivors. Micheal is also dealing with that same baggage.

Nev also has a lot of interest in Rhys. Of course she would never let Rys know that and would have no idea how he would feel if he did know.

Rys is such a closed off guy and oh so hard to read. He's always been unfailingly polite whenever she's had contact with him but oh so unreadable.

Nev checked on Rys all through his coma and recovery. She hopes he doesn't find out about that either as she has no idea what he would think of her keeping tabs on him and his recovery.

She doesn't know what to think when she finds out that Rys will be her bodyguard when she goes to Vancouver for a meeting. A meeting where she will be giving a speech. A speech about her kidnapping in Afghanistan.

Rhys, Ben and many more of the team are also there as security for Luke's son's wedding. Its a wedding where tight security will be the name of the game. A wedding Tehrazzi will certainly try to hit. Just how and by who no one knows.

So begins one damned fine read.

This one has Rhys, Ben, Nev, Luke, Dec, Bryn, Lukes untreated medial issues, Emily, Lukes ex-wife, a wedding, a plot to kill them all, a terrorist cell leader no one would have ever suspected, kidnapping, Tehrazzi and his plans and Rys and Nev reaching for love and life.

Just a super read and well worth those five stars.
