Before I say anything, I need to address the cover... it is STUNNING. Seriously, one of the most gorgeous covers I've ever seen (*drools*)

Now, for the story...

This is going to be an auto-buy author, I can feel it. I could feel it halfway through the story. Between the characters, the storyline, and the awesome writing... there was no doubt in my mind.

I'll admit I was skeptical when I first started reading. I wasn't sure I was going to like the reason for Nor marrying Cole's brother, honestly I thought it'd be unrealistic. But I ended up being very impressed and I really enjoyed how the entire situation was handled. It was heartbreaking to see so many lives torn apart, but once you read it, you'll be able to see the "silver lining" in all the sorrow. And seeing Nor and Cole get a second chance, almost makes it all worth it.

Nor and Cole are soulmates. Everything they do, they do for one another, and despite all the pain and the obstacles they are forced to go through, they stand by each other and come out stronger because of it.

"You are Nor. He is Cole. It’s a given."

I will say this, there is a "misunderstanding" of sorts... but I honestly feel that it works in this instance. The main thing that would bother people was the fact that Cole ignored letters from Nor and his family for nine years (opening just one would have cleared things up)... I just wanted to throw out this warning because I know some are bothered by this trope. But unless you truly hate it, like want-to-gouge-your-eyes-out hate it, I'd still recommend giving it a chance, because this story is really incredible and the misunderstanding makes sense (to me, at least).

We get a nice back-and-forth glimpse between the past and the present, and I love how it was set-up because it keeps you extremely engaged and we really get the full story. My problem with most second-chance romances is that sometimes we don't get the beginning of the story, and I often feel like I'm missing some of the most important parts.

But here, we get to see them meet and fall in love. And it was extremely sweet to read. They're both damaged, and there are many things they must overcome, but it was just so easy to root for them. And you never doubt the connection they share.

Their love and devotion shines through and it was so hard to read because you knew that they were going to be torn apart. But it was also more than obvious that they'd find a way to be together in the end.

Okay, now I feel like I'm just rambling and talking in circles, but the point is READ IT! Autumn Grey has created a fabulous world here, and I can't wait for the other characters' stories!

Woah. There’s a lot going on in this book...a LOT. Nearly every single trigger warning should be on this one (personally, I’m not a fan of TWs, but I get it).

I won’t recap the story because I’m not quite sure I can. At its core Fall Back Skyward is a friends to lovers/second chance romance. It’s a bad boy/good girl, boy swoops in to save girl, girl pines away waiting boy’s return type of story. That’s cool; friends to lovers/second chance are my favorite tropes so this is right up my alley, except...

I had trouble connecting with any of the characters on any meaningful level and the entire book is in dire need of an editor/proof reader. There were so many misspellings and malaprop as well as plot holes with the timeline. The book is told from both Cole and Nor’s perspectives, which worked for this story, but the shifts from the past to the present could have used a little more polishing.

This was actually more of a two star read for me but I’m feeling generous. It has the bones of a good story, but its editorial problems and busyness kept me from enjoying the book.

And a chapter from the CAT’S perspective. I should have tapped out then...
Why did I wait this long to read this?! This has been on my wishlist for awhile now and I can't believe I waited this long. This story, these characters will stay with me forever and I will definitely re-read this again and again. I was reading the sample to the second book Breaking Gravity that's out now and I learned that the female character was sister's with Nor in this book and I said oh no I have to start with this one first. These are totally standalone so you don't have to read this one before going into book 2 but I wanted the full experience. And man I can't believe I waited this long. Cole Cole Cole what an unforgettable Hero that captured my heart. Their love was just one of those loves that made me say yep THIS is why I love to read. This story may not be for everyone because it deals with subject matters that not everyone can read about or understand but I understood. He didn't see her scars he just saw his soul mate. Uff that line in the book right there is one of many beautiful things that come out this man's mouth. I can go on and on about my love for these character's really. I'm now hooked and moving on to the Breaking Gravity. I can't wait to see what the author will come up with for the rest of the series and boy I hope everyone gets their story told. Thank you Autumn Gray for your beautiful words I felt every emotion during this read. Cole and Nor's love is unforgettable and I can't wait for more of this series.
This book had so much promise. It started out amazing but fell flat for me about halfway through.

The back-and-forth between past and present was part of it, as it took me out of the story. As well as some issues with the overall plot and poor editing.

At one point I actually disliked the hero and heroine. How can you make out with each other when you’re at the wake of your dead brother and dead husband? Show some restraint!

I did continue reading and did finish the book, because I thought I might actually be able to invest in them again, but I just couldn’t. For me, the story became drawn out and repetitive.

And maybe the story just wasn’t for me, as there are a lot of positive reviews. It happens.
